8 am called, we donned on our smelling work clothes and headed down to the sweaty and smelly car park where we set up a workshop area for us to tend to the broken down cars. We had an AC with a broken leaf spring/king pin/carb issue and chassis problem, this took about 3 hours to sort but there were 6 of us so other items tended to were brake issues, gear lever issues, the list goes on! We were under a strict time frame and all the competitors were told that if you required any work done by us they had to be in the garage by 8 as we were to be finished by 12, any cars not presented by 9 would not be worked on, not sure how many people read the official notice board as people were turning up way past 12 asking for work to be done, unfortunately we were so busy that the late comers had to find alternative garages as we didn't have enough time to work for them! Once our duties were over we decided on a spot of sightseeing so we washed and changed and headed out to the local sights, we wandered through little india, Chinatown, got some lunch and ended up on the famous Chew pier where only the defendants of one Chinese family work and live, a fascinating if not bit smelly place riddled with alleyways and shops,
we got to the end a bit hot and tired and didn't want to walk back so asked one of the Chinese people if they had a boat that we could hire to take us back to the hotel around the coast, a fishing boat thingy was requisitioned and we were delivered back safely although we tried to get the driver to do a James Bond move and try to get in front of a ferry charging out of the port, he didn't and received boos all the way back.
A quick swim in the infinity pool and it was time to shower ready for a drinks get together in the lobby before going out to dinner, both Owen and I have decided not to go out tonight as we're now knackered and need an early night! I have no facts from Buckley today but have probably the worst selfie ever!
