9th February 2015, another day off!

An 8 o'clock start down in the car park in soaring temperatures was very difficult for me as having a very late night last night meant that we were all hanging but work needed to be done, one of the girls in the volvo sadly went out for a run first thing and the throttle stuck open blowing the engine up so there was a panick phonecall trying to find an Amazon engine to change, don't think there's many of them in Thailand!  A Bentley came in with an alternator failure and that was duly changed with a spare from its sister car doing this event and they then went off to change the coolant as they've had slightly overheating issues but not too much of a problem, lots of tool lending and minor things like adjusting brakes etc to make all the competitors happier about continuing tomorrow.

Once all our duties were done we had a quick beer in the bar before getting washed up and heading down to the beach for some frolicking, first on the programme was kayaking with Jim, Owen, Alan and Rob, this didn't go well as after a short time we capsized and struggled to get back in the righted vessel, we were towed back to shallower water where Jim departed and we went off exploring the coastline, on the way back we encountered pirates who boarded the vessels and threw us overboard, namely Matt and Buckley the event doctors, we found refuge on a floating deck out to sea, our boats were returned eventually and we returned to base not before lots of dicking about doing bombs and dives off the floating deck.  Volleyball was next on the list and a number of competitors were getting involved, the doctors turned up after a while and basically showed us up as they were much better, trust the doctors to piss on our parade!  Buckleys facts for today are basically about jelly fish stings and has dispelled the remedy for stings so from now in we are not to wee on the stings nor put vinegar on the stings, his remedy for such problems is just put the sting in warm water, now I'm starting to worry about his doctoring skills, this fact I suspect isn't bogus but sounds like it should be! Some more photos of our journey.
